While the Nova series is currently going through a slow development process due to Marvel's new Disney+ approach, there is a way the character could debut in the MCU before the show. While Richard provides a supporting powerhouse role like a Thor or a Drax, Sam provides a coming-of-age hero who can be a conduit to many meaningful stories regarding young people with great power thrust upon them. Rider originally got his powers in the comics after a similar event befell the Nova Corps, so it makes sense for Richard Rider to rebuild the MCU's Nova Corps.
